Description

Position: SQL DBA

Exp: 7 to 10 years

Work Location: Remote

Azure experience is the Key

 

In this case we need someone with 7-10 years of experience as a DBA to perform the following.

  1. Understanding of low-level SQL permissions based on SQL Roles (for example: schema level permission assigned to roles)
  2. T-SQL skills (writing stored procedures, querying system tables, code review for other members)
  3. Experience with SQL Package (dacpac / Data-tier applications)
  4. Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics experience in designing pipelines (knowledge of Copy Data activity)
  5. PowerShell scripting skills (general, Azure modules, error handling)
  6. Capacity Planning: The DBA performs capacity planning to estimate future resource requirements based on data growth and user demands. They monitor resource utilization, analyse trends, and scale the Synapse environment by adding or removing resources as needed.
  7. IAM in SQL Pool (Synapse) extended to Security and Access Control: The DBA ensures the security of the Synapse Data Warehouse by implementing appropriate access controls, user roles, and permissions. They manage authentication mechanisms, encryption, and data privacy to protect sensitive information stored in the data warehouse.
  8. performance improvements extended to Database Design: The DBA collaborates with data architects and developers to design the database schema and data models for optimal performance and scalability. They ensure that the data warehouse structure aligns with the organization's requirements and industry best practices.
  9. Experience with GitHub & GitHub actions/workflows.
  10. Compliance: Enable and manage database auditing capabilities
  11. Data Integrity: Ensure entity integrity and referential integrity and manage constraints.
  12. SQL Package (dacpac) - typical for SQL Developers but many DBAs know that 
  13. SQL permissions and troubleshooting them - typical DBA work.
