Position Overview: As a Data Strategy and Planning professional, your primary responsibility will be to
develop and implement strategic initiatives related to data management, analytics, and governance within the
organization. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their data
needs, define data strategies, and create a roadmap for effective data management and utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop Data Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership and business stakeholders to define the
organization's data strategy, including data acquisition, storage, integration, analysis, and utilization.
Align the data strategy with the overall business objectives and goals.
2. Data Governance: Establish and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
to ensure data quality, security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations. Define data
ownership, roles, and responsibilities, and facilitate data stewardship across the organization.
3. Data Architecture: Work with IT teams to design and maintain an efficient and scalable data
architecture that supports the organization's data strategy. Ensure the availability, integrity, and
accessibility of data assets across different systems and platforms.
4. Data Planning and Roadmap: Develop a comprehensive data roadmap that outlines short-term and
long-term initiatives, including data integration, data analytics, data infrastructure enhancements,
and technology investments. Collaborate with relevant teams to prioritize and execute the roadmap.
5. Data Analysis and Insights: Partner with data analysts and data scientists to identify opportunities
for leveraging data to drive business insights and decision-making. Provide guidance on data
modeling, data visualization, and statistical analysis techniques to extract valuable insights from the
data.
6. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders from different business units to understand
their data requirements and challenges. Build relationships and communicate the value of data
strategy and initiatives to gain buy-in and support for data-driven decision-making.
7. Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to
assess the effectiveness and impact of data strategy and initiatives. Continuously monitor data-
related processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
8. Industry and Technology Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, developments, and best
practices in data management, analytics, and technology. Evaluate emerging technologies and assess
their potential for enhancing data strategy and capabilities within the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
 10+ years’ experience in Data Strategy and Planning, Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer
Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
 Proven experience (X years) in data management, data strategy, or a related role.
 Strong knowledge of data governance, data architecture, data integration, and data analytics
concepts and practices.
 Familiarity with data management tools, databases, data warehouses, and data visualization
platforms.
 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data
requirements.
 Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities
simultaneously.
 Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data management and privacy.
 Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks for data management, such as DAMA-DMBOK
and COBIT.
 Certifications in data management or related areas (e.g., CDMP, CDP) are a plus.
