Description

Data Mining
Position Overview: As a Data Mining Specialist, you will be responsible for extracting valuable insights and
patterns from large volumes of structured and unstructured data. You will apply advanced data mining
techniques and statistical analysis to uncover hidden patterns, trends, and relationships in data sets, which
will be used to drive business decisions and strategies. This role requires a strong analytical mindset,
proficiency in data mining tools and techniques, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to
stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Exploration and Preprocessing:
 Identify and acquire relevant data sources for analysis.
 Cleanse, transform, and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
 Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand data characteristics and identify potential
patterns.
2. Data Mining and Modeling:
 Apply advanced data mining techniques, such as clustering, classification, regression, and
association rule mining, to extract insights from complex data sets.
 Develop and implement data mining models and algorithms to discover patterns and
relationships.
 Utilize machine learning and statistical techniques to create predictive models.
3. Pattern Identification and Analysis:
 Analyze data mining results to identify meaningful patterns, trends, and correlations.
 Interpret and evaluate the significance and reliability of discovered patterns.
 Collaborate with domain experts and stakeholders to understand the business context and
validate findings.
4. Reporting and Visualization:
 Prepare clear and concise reports, summaries, and visualizations to communicate data
mining results.
 Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
 Create data dashboards and interactive visualizations to enable self-service exploration of
data.

5. Data Integration and Automation:
 Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to integrate data mining processes into data
pipelines and workflows.
 Automate data mining tasks and workflows to streamline analysis and improve efficiency.
 Stay up to date with emerging data mining techniques, tools, and industry best practices.

Requirements:
 5-8 years’ experience in Data Mining, Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science,
Statistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
 Strong knowledge of data mining concepts, algorithms, and techniques.
 Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
 Experience with data mining and machine learning libraries and tools (e.g., Scikit-learn,
TensorFlow, Spark MLlib).
 Proficiency in data preprocessing, data cleaning, and data wrangling techniques.
 Strong communication and data storytelling abilities.
 Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
 Attention to detail and ability to handle complex data sets.
 Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
 Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
