Sr. Devops Engineer

Job Description -

Senior DevOps Engineer In this role, you will have a ground up opportunity working as key part of an early startup team to define the cloud architecture to create an efficient cost optimized and massively scalable, cloud native, micro services based application infrastructure in public cloud, AWS, using Kubernetes. In addition, define the development process, security posture, deployment environments, release process, efficient CI/CD pipeline using GitHub tools or similar and create monitoring tools and infrastructure to enable support teams to quickly turnaround and fix the customer issues in the production. Job Responsibilities

• Engage closely with architects, software engineers and other operations teams to deliver highly available and scalable services

• Create multi-region cloud architecture for application platform built for complex micro services based architecture and be able to integrate with many 3rd party SaaS applications.

• Support a constantly improving Development Experience as a highly functioning member of the DevOps Team. • Strengthen and maintain the management of the build and deployment processes and infrastructure

• Design, engineer and support the DevOps CI\CD tooling and platform roadmap and own the lifecycle of these platforms and integrate with open source build environment for cloud and firmware software stack

• Ensure all services are hardened and security best practices are followed during the automated CI\CD processes

• Seamlessly integrate DevOps with infrastructure and automation orchestration platforms through established architectural patterns (e.g. APIs)

• Build, scale and extend AWS Kubernetes Infrastructure (EKS) • Write Terraform modules for Infrastructure and Application Provisioning Automation

• Define, implement and maintain Cloud Authorization Policies and Authentication Infrastructure • Design, implement and maintain Cloud Networking and Security Features • Troubleshoot production issues - involving web services, kubernetes, databases, load balancers • Own capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades • Drive root cause analysis and risk management processes • Drive ongoing improvements and efficiencies in operational practices, tools and processes • Evaluate third-party products and specifications • Provide estimations of work based on requirements

• Educate others (technical and non-technical) on areas of expertise

• Document and communicate designs to new developers, and support user training efforts for cloud enablement and Infrastructure as Code • Create run books for trouble shooting cloud infrastructure and application services Required Skills & Qualifications

• Deep knowledge in AWS, Kubernetes, API Gateways, HA Proxies, TLS, Cert Management, AMI images, S3, ELK stack, container orchestration, CloudWatch, Terraform, Ansible, secrets management, IAM roles, security groups

• Strong experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery with solid accomplishments

• Strong experience on Build and Deploy using GitHub tools

• Strong understandings of compute components (CPU, Memory, Hard Disk) and public cloud AWS infrastructure and trade offs between various computing resources to optimize the cost and performance

• Knowledge of architectural design patterns, immutable production, fail fast, stateless • Knowledge of systems and database performance tuning benchmark techniques, database Sharding, table partitioning, horizontal/vertical scaling, user load, identification/measuring bottlenecks, system optimization

• Prior work with Helm, Docker, PostGres, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, microservices, message queues and related technologies will be very helpful.

• Experience with scripting languages

• Experience with Monitoring and observability tools; New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, AWS Cloud infrastructure monitoring tools

• Troubleshooting production performance/service degradation or outage issues at scale

• Open and active in sharing knowledge as well as excellent communication skills

• Experience in creating AWS infrastructure someone who is driven, mostly independent and like to learn, exchange and collaborate

• Availability to work with a distributed team in different time zones

• Have the ability to own a project from inception to completion

• Have in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities and acts as resource for colleagues with less experience
