Responsibilities:
Ø Providing 24/7 On-Call support for critical production database.
Ø Installation, Configuration and Administration of SQL Server 2005/2008/2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019/2022.
Ø Working on Standard Database Maintenance tasks, Backups and Recovery Plans.
Ø Database Refreshes from Production to Stage and Development environments as per the requirement.
Ø Administration of SQL server by creating user Logins with appropriate roles, granting, and denying login privileges, monitor the user accounts, creation of groups, granting database and application roles to users and groups.
Ø Periodic checking of databases with DBCC command for maintaining data consistency and integrity and rebuilt indexes.
Ø Constantly checking functionality of the environment and taking necessary action when an alert is thrown from alerting mechanism by taking a prompt action based on its severity and considering the resolution of the issues as most primitive tasks.
Ø Carrying out Installations and upgradations of SQL server Database engine and client tools through all the versions and administrating the same.
Ø Administrating replication, log shipping, Mirroring and Always-On high availability methodologies.
Ø Applying SQL Server patches and Service Packs during the maintenance window.
Ø Raising Change requests for any production change to be made and other defined requests for their respective purpose.
Ø Creating Weekly and Monthly analysis reports for the Database Growth and Performance statistics
Ø Distribution of Knowledge within Team considering any new issue and document it for future usage if it surfaces back.
Ø Configuring DR strategies Replication, Mirroring, Always-on and Log Shipping.
