Project Details Tyler Technologies Inc, (NYSE listed) has a School division that provides solutions for district schools in Missouri, Illinois, Arizona, and other states. This solution was first built in ASP.NET in the year 2005, and then conversion to Angular has started in 2016. Currently, users are using both .Net and Angular version. The SIS solution has the following applications/Branches - Tyler SIS 360 (SISV9) – Angular Tyler SIS 360 (SISV10) – Angular Tyler SIS (SISV9) – ASP.Net Tyler SpEd – ASP.Net Tyler SIS Parent Portal – ASP.Net Tyler Reports – Component One I work on all modules in above applications and at all levels of development life cycle. I work on design, development, testing, enduser troubleshooting, and backend database maintenance. I am also handling escalated technical support issues. Tyler SIS (District School Information System) The product Tyler SISv9 helps in moving toward efficient data management, better data-driven decisions, enhanced student performance, increased parental involvement, and so much more. SIS is currently utilized by almost half of all Missouri K-12 public school districts. The application is built on n-tier architecture and deployed on both Web farm and web garden environment. The application has got modules to handle the different information for School are Student Demographics, Term Grade management, Site Sections, Scheduling, Locker Management, Profile management, Attendance management, Lunch, Permissions, Family Management, State Reporting, IEP, District Subjects, Curriculum, Staff management, Medical, Auto Scheduling, Fine and Fees, Grade Books and many more. I have work closely with modules like Grade Book, Attendance, Textbooks, Curriculum, Demographics, Profile, Lockers, System Settings, Import/Export of Data and their reports. Business logics are implemented in a separate layer. BL layer is further extended in different sub layers to perform similar kind of operations like validation, error handling etc. UI related coding in done in Presentation layer. Both BL and UI layer contains Validation. UI contains client-side validation and BL contains server-side validation. Infragistics third party controls are used for better representation of data. It facilitates multilevel editable grid, export grid data, better Tabs, menu functionality and many more. JavaScript is used for client-side programming and validations. Error handler is used thought the application including the Data Access Layer and error stack and error log are mailed at same time. The application has got only two aspx files and on runtime it loads the user controls on demand. The mapping of User controls and URL requests are maintained in separate XML file. This also facilitates hiding the exact web pages from end user. The user control path and URL name is mapped in a separate XML file. Following are main features available in application: Flexible term settings for schools, Multiple File Upload, Import/Export of Data, Web services, Online Take photo of Student for Batches, Send-Letters/Emails reports, State wise Curriculum, Photo seating chart, Check in/out Attendance, User preferences thought the application, bulletins, My Classes, On the fly calculation of grade book/curriculum and Term grades marks, report card etc. The application is deployed successfully over the web; 400+ school districts in Missouri and Illinois States are using the application currently. New enhancements, modifications, up gradation, support, client’s setup, and other work are under progress Tyler SIS Parent Portal (Obsolete, Converted to Student360 in Angular) Parent portal is developed to help parents to see child’s classes and schedule in school. It also helps parents to submit lunch fees (or any other fee) and change the family demographic information. Parent portal is built on .NET 3.5 and shares the same database of main application. It’s used not only by parent but also by students and alternate family members. Student can request their courses here.
