We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kubernetes Architect Expert to join our team specializing in Manufacturing IoT and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environments. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Kubernetes clusters specifically tailored to meet the unique requirements of manufacturing processes within the
Internet of Things (IoT) and pharmaceutical manufacturing domains. Your expertise in Kubernetes, Rancher, SuSE/Ubuntu operating systems, and proficiency in ISA-99 methodologies and architecture will be instrumental in driving the success of our organization's technology infrastructure
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the technical requirements and constraints of manufacturing IoT and pharmaceutical manufacturing systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient Kubernetes clusters on SuSE and Ubuntu operating systems, incorporating ISA-99 methodologies and architecture principles.
• Utilize Rancher to manage and orchestrate Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability,
scalability, and ease of administration.
• Apply ISA-99-defined security controls within Kubernetes and Rancher architecture to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance in manufacturing environments.
• Develop and implement best practices for deploying and managing ISA-99-compliant Kubernetes clusters using Rancher, tailored to manufacturing IoT and pharmaceutical
manufacturing workloads.
• Optimize and fine-tune Kubernetes configurations within Rancher, adhering to ISA-99 guidelines, to meet the specific needs of manufacturing processes and operational resilience.
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to integrate ISA-99-compliant Kubernetes clusters managed by Rancher with other technologies, such as CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues, sharing your expertise in Kubernetes, Rancher, SuSE/Ubuntu, and ISA-99 methodologies within manufacturing IoT and
pharmaceutical manufacturing domains.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in Kubernetes, Rancher, ISA-99 standards, and related technologies, evaluating their potential applicability to our manufacturing environment.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, security audits, and threat modeling exercises, following ISA-99 risk assessment methodologies, to ensure the security of Kubernetes and Rancher
clusters.
• Collaborate with D&T teams and stakeholders to design network segmentation, access controls, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies aligned with ISA-99 guidelines.
• Assist in developing and executing security incident response plans specific to Kubernetes and Rancher-based manufacturing systems, adhering to ISA-99 incident handling practices.
• Document architectural designs, deployment processes, security controls, and compliance measures in accordance with ISA-99 methodologies and communicate them to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Rancher for managing Kubernetes clusters and deploying workloads.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within the IoT and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries..
Education and Experience:
• 4-6 years of related work experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Competencies/Authorities
• Extensive experience working with Kubernetes in production environments, with a focus on SuSE and Ubuntu operating systems.
• Solid knowledge of Linux-based systems administration, particularly in SuSE and Ubuntu environments.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for automating Kubernetes and Rancher deployments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) for efficient software delivery.
• Understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, and service discovery within Kubernetes and Rancher.
• Knowledge of security best practices, compliance frameworks, and ISA-99 methodologies applicable to manufacturing IoT and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Azure environment is a plus
• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
• Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
