Responsibilities:

1. Workastheleaddatabase specialist for PostgreSQL working on new product features and customizations.
2. Be the single point of contact for any queries/issues on the database front, especially PostgreSQL.
3. Coordinate with the developers, managers, and leadership teams to build effective databases
4. Collaborate with product managers to make sure database code meets demand
5. Communicate with front-end developers to define plain yet dynamic APIs
6. Keep a check on data structures and quality of data with DBAs
7. Integrate and maintain database code in procedures, scripts, queries, and views
8. Work with and be an active member of the PostgreSQL community
9. Work alongside cloud infrastructure DevOps team to plan, administer, maintain and secure PostgreSQL databases.
10. Work closely with QA and product team to ensure build and deployments of database changes within sprints.
11. Participate annual DR tests. Periodically launch database backup and recovery tests and document results.

RequiredTechnicalandProfessionalExpertise:

• A Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of PostgreSQL DBA
• Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Postgres and other relational databases.
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and development
• Demonstrated experience in data modeling tools
• Knowledge of MongoDB is a plus
