Manufacturing is striving towards world class processes and increased standardization (8 step process), preferably on a global level. The current Manufacturing electronic Permit to Work (ePTW) implementation in the Americas has neither of that. As a consequence, sites have implemented the ePTW process incompletely and on their own. The solution is hard to maintain and not aligned with the Manufacturing IT Strategy. Sites do not learn from each other, do not have any exchangeability and the IT investments can only be based on a site per site basis.
After an intensive selection process, the management has identified Permit Vision from eVision as the global tool for their global Permit to Work process. It was a pure testing project. There were different modules in this web based application like- Admin module, risk assessment module, isolation management, permit to work module.
In DS Permit Vision, I have played the role of Test Lead. I have written test plan, functional test cases, identified regression test cases for different modules. I also had done UAT on behalf of client.
I have also done POC of the automation of this application using Selenium Web driver.
