Client Name : DBS
Team Size : 10
Role : Application Developer
Environment : Oracle11g, UNIX, SQLLOADER, SVN, TWS
Duration: Sep2019 to-Mar 2020
Description:
Financial consolidator is a batch mode system rather than online system. The difference from
an online system is that most (if not all) tasks in FC are scheduled (timed). This is further
explained in the following aspects: Interfaces with other systems. External system sends data
feed to FC. There will be defined timeline for the data feed submission. Any delay in the data
feed to FC will have important consequences like delaying FC schedule.
Data processing, enrichment and reconciliation, all these processing tasks are also scheduled in
FC at different timing. This schedule would depend on the output requirement from users as
well as system constraints. For critical reports (eg, regulatory reports, reconciliation reports),
there would be deadline (timeline) clearly defined according to the requirements. Delay in
these reports would trigger alarm and need investigation. For low priority reports, FC needs to
have certain flexibility to re-schedule the timing for situations that needs to release some
resources to critical tasks. FC will provide some online applications which will allow user to do
tasks like mapping maintenance and adjustments.
Responsibilities:
Loading Finacle feeds into staging and base tables using sql loader .
