Project Name: Webex Collaboration - Enhanced Survivability

Duration: 10 months (July 2022 to April 2023)

Project Description:

In the unlikely event of a network outage, or any outage preventing users at the site from connecting to Webex Calling Dedicated Instance, the Remote Survivability Node actively takes over the call routing responsibility. Throughout the outage, the Remote Survivability Node will process all internal, PSTN and emergency calls for the users in that branch site which is experiencing the outage.

I worked as Java backend developer and my responsibilities included:

Understanding the overall design and architecture of the Enhanced Survivability Feature.
Designing and implementing the REST APIS in the SRE (Simple Rule Engine) that allow different software components to communicate and interact with each other.
Designing the database schema, writing SQL queries, and ensuring data integrity and security.
Ensuring the security of the application by implementing proper authentication, authorization, and protection against common security vulnerabilities.
Collaborating with frontend developers to integrate the frontend and backend components of the application.
Using version control systems like Git/Gerrit to manage code repositories, track changes, and collaborate with other team members.
Writing Junit tests to ensure code quality and functionality, for passing the SONAR tests as well as debugging and fixing issues as they arise.
Participating in the deployment process and working with DevOps teams to set up and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
